The Aerlex XT-A Spod is the first dedicated spod reel to be produced by Shimano. This reel has been designed with all the requirements of modern day spodding in mind. One of the main features is the reels three line clips, which means the angler can target a number of areas with the minimum of fuss. The reel also has a fantastic retrieval rate due to its 5.3:1 ratio. The reel is also extremely lightweight, making continuous spodding easy. The reel can hold enough line to cater for large amounts of high diameter line with its 17lb/270yds capacity.
The Aerlex XT-A is not only a great spod reel but can also be utilised as a marker reel as its features Shimano’s Baitrunner Spool System for quick drag adjustment when peeling off line whilst depth finding. The reel is not only a workhorse but looks the part as its black body and gunsmoke components make it a stunning reel.
