A stunning rod from the legendary rod builders Harrison
Steve Harrison’s latest design, the Torrix TE, utilises new tapers and new materials to produce a rod with fantastic performance but at a low diameter and weight. Incorporating two different carbon fibres in the butt and tip sections, within the zero axis ensures low down casting power is achieved without sacrificing forgiveness in the middle and tip. With the rod at ninety degrees a ribcage of super lightweight carbon controls the rod in compression. The carbons performance in compression is as important in a bending rod as the way the fibres perform in tension. Harrison’s aim when creating the Torrix TE was to design a rod that balances compression and tension performance to optimise the balance between casting and playing fish.
Surface ply of 1k carbon fabric in the butt section strengthens the rod, improves hoop strength and reduces torque. Made right here in the United Kingdom, using the best blanks and the finest fittings, it’s easy to see why rods from the Harrison stable are famous for being the ultimate carp rod. Developed by distance casting record holder, Terry Edmonds, the 12ft 6", Torrix TE Special has a test curve of approx. 3.5lb.
