As a sub-division of Daiwa, Cormoran have developed a strategy to focus on own product development in the hope this will stand them out in a market that is dominated by wholesale distribution.

Since their introduction to the market in 1973 Cormoran have bought innovations to the rods and reels section of the fishing industry through products such as the complete replacement of the traditional wire and metal guides in one year in Europe by introducing Fuji guides, the introduction of the first carbon rod program – code named KUNNAN – a new era in rod building development and finally the introduction of the ‘Rotary’, the first free spool reel worldwide. This was the concept that the first bite indicator reel with integrated electronic bite indicator was based on – the Cormoran Elbas – a modern day classic.

Today Cormoran is present in nearly all the European countries, something that signifies the quality and success of the Cormoran brand.
